I'm a little late getting these 11 month photos out, especially since we're already preparing for his 1 year birthday in just a few weeks. I can't believe it!
Lately, Grady's been very active. Ironic because he still isn't a great eater or sleeper so we're not sure where the energy comes from. We've decided he has yet another trait of daddy's: ability to power-nap. So far, the only thing of mine that he has: he wakes up grumpy. :)
He's getting closer to walking. He pushes anything that's his height around (trash can, high chair, bar stools--oh, and the walker toy).
He's back into books and reading. Still enjoys chewing on them too.
We've discovered a few new activities that we do during the days: the local YMCA (of which we are members) has a romp room with mats and balls and tunnels. He's learning how to go down things backwards (feet first) which will hopefully help with the stairs. He recently discovered tunnels and how much he loves them. Now he crawls underneath the dining table because it's the closest thing we have to a tunnel at home. We're also going to some community centers and their gym time--again to let him play with new toys and see what his next favorite thing to do will be. We go to parks so he can swing and go down slides. A bit of a daredevil!
He's starting to associate purpose with objects. For example, he knows that Rupert's toys are meant to be thrown--and he's starting to try to throw them. He knows that the rings go on the post and that the ball goes in the circle slot on the shape sorter. He doesn't try too much to mix and match the activities--like I said, he is understanding each toys' purpose. Pretty cool.
He loves to be tickled and it just melts our heart to hear him with such a hearty laugh. There's nothing better. Well, maybe his hugs and open-mouth kisses. But that's one that only a mom and dad can enjoy. :)
Love to all,
Stacia
