28 weeks today.

Had another doctor appointment yesterday, and got to have yet another ultrasound. It's probably my 5th one. My doctor isn't shy about doing them (and insurance covers them) so we're lucky that way. The purpose of this one was to see if my Placenta Previa had gone away. At my last ultrasound (Oct. 17), they showed that my placenta was down by my cervix, which can be common in the second trimester. However, it's not a good thing if it's that way still in the third trimester. We're happy to report that the placenta has moved, so we're all good.

They also looked at the growth of the baby and found that he's small. More than likely, it's not an issue--look at who is parents are. But, because he's in the 13th percentile, they're going to take a look again in 2 weeks. In the meantime, I've been told to eat red meat as my iron levels are low. That's hard for a girl that's never been a big red meat fan. I'm also supposed to 'drastically reduce my exercise' for the next two weeks--no more trips to the gym, but walking the dog is OK. Mainly, it's just taking it easy and getting lots of rest. Again, not easy for a girl who doesn't rest easily. Dr assured us that baby's probably OK--they even did other measures to ensure. One was called a Doppler where they measure the amount of blood the baby is getting from the placenta. Again, all is good there. Just precautions. :)

Anyway, here's a pic from the ultrasound. Still a boy. :) This picture of his face is a bit creepy, but it's the best we have. It was harder to distinguish things this time around--he's getting all scrunched in there, you can't tell an arm from a leg.
Well, if you haven't heard, the weather here has been absolutely crazy. It's been snowing for more than a week and it looks like it will stay on the ground until this weekend. Here's a picture I took on Monday I think. We have more than a foot on the ground and we woke up to it snowing today again. Hope it ends soon so I can get my car. It's stranded in a ditch in front of someone's house on an icy hill on the other side of town. Basically, last Friday I started driving down the hill. Driving quickly turned to sliding and I had to drive up into someone's yard to stop myself. Yikes. I moved my car off the yard onto the street and decided it was best to leave it there. At the time, we thought it would be just a day or 2 until the snow melted. Almost a week later and we're still waiting for the now to melt! The hills out here and the lack of snow plows make the entire city shut down when it snows. Never thought I'd be wishing for 45 degrees and raining!

We're going up to Bellingham to see some friends tonight. Will come home tomorrow since Justin works on Friday. Next Wednesday we travel to Kansas to spend New Year's with Justin's family. We're excited to see everyone!

Have a great Christmas! Love, Stacia
